JOIN THE ONE PERCENT
If you had a chance to help out at a time of critical emergency like after a bomb blast or gunshot wound, what would you do? Lend a hand? Donate money, time and effort? What if you could not do any of those but you still want to help? How about donating a pint of blood? Would you do it?
The One Percent Project is a citizen’s effort to bridge the gap between blood donors and blood recipients in Nigeria within that crucial moment when life and death depends on the availability of clean blood and willing donors. We believe that if one percent of Nigerians sign up to give blood whenever called upon, more than half of lives lost today in car accidents and bomb blasts would be saved. Today’s 25% of maternal mortality due to unavailability of blood will become a thing of the past.
We need you. How can you help? Join us as a volunteer, trustee, and participant, or just as a friend of the project, please check out our website at www.foronepercent.org and read about the full details. Share your personal stories about blood donation or reception, or any new ideas about how to make this work even better. We are on twitter as @foronepercent. Please follow us.
We would also like you to take our current blood donor survey at http://www.foronepercent.org/survey.php
We look forward to the success of this drive, and your participation. We are saving our own lives.
Thank you.
